Friday’s Fab Freebie :: Week 10

Wow, I’ve already done 10 of these?! Craziness. I think this one may be one of my favs yet. I was lounging around one morning in my jammies, doing some bloggy thangs and watching the Today show. Ya know, cause I can do that now that I’m unemployed 😉 Oh the simple things. Anywho, the ever so sexy Tim McGraw was performing one of his new songs “Overrated” and some of the lyrics caught my attention. I immediately put a note in my phone so I’d remember to look them up. Well I’m not sure if that song is even released yet because my google search warranted zero results. Luckily, his performance from the Today show was on youtube and I was able to relive Tim’s sexiness those thoughtful lyrics. It’s a good jam and if you wanna hear it you can listen here. And here’s the freebie!

Have a fabulously wonderful weekend everyone!

Ice Ice Baby!

So yesterday, I was told a friend had some furniture laying around that he was trying to get rid of. Enough said; I hopped in my car and drove over. I didn’t even know what he had but of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a look! He had some tables, a bench, a bunch of chairs…and this:

Free as a Bird

TGIM! Said no one ever…except Eric Thomas. And me! I’m seriously so excited it’s Monday because even though I loved every second of The Home Girls Giveaway last week, I’ve been anxiously waiting to share some more projects with you!

However, before we get into that, I want to take a second to tell you about a friend of mine who just started a blog with three other ladies. It’s called Wirl Mamas. Wirl standing for What It’s Really Like (to be a mama). They’re here to dish about the honest truths behind being a mom and talk about the stories that no one ever tells you. They take a refreshing point of view on motherhood and aren’t afraid to talk about their hardships. Even though I’m not a mama yet, I’m excited to follow along with them and hopefully learn some things before bringing a little one into this world. I’m super excited for them, so go check them out and see what it’s really like 😉

Ok, now onto the goods! I bought this little table at my go-to local antique store for $15 and knew it was perfect. I love doing small tables like this because I’m SUPER impatient and they usually don’t take as long to complete as a dresser or larger piece.

Dipped Tripod Tables with Gold Leather Accents

Happy Monday friends! Everyone have a good weekend? I hope so! It was community garage sale weekend in my town and I was able to sell my Napoleonic Blue Table! It went to a woman who was buying it for her daughter’s nursery. She’s finally pregnant with her first child after 13 attempts of in vitro. Talk about a long struggle. I’m so excited that my little table can help to furnish her little one’s room and it makes me happy to know it’s going to a good home. The weekend also brought me the perfect desk for my new computer! Well, technically it’s a sewing table, but when I’m done with it you won’t even know what it’s original purpose was. I can’t wait to show it to you guys. It’s a gem.

Today, I’m sharing with you my two round tables that I talked about a couple weeks ago here. I literally could have done just about anything to these guys, but decided to keep them somewhat simple.

When it Rains it Pours :: An Update

Well friends, it’s been a rough week here in the Bertolini house. On Friday I got laid off. Over the weekend, the hubs’ baseball team lost in their District Championship game; one game away from going to the World Series. And on Tuesday, I came home to find a dead laptop. Talk about some crappy things happening, huh? But ya know what? It could always be worse. In the grand scheme of things, it’s just a job, a game and a broken computer. All things you’re allowed to be upset about, but not let them drag you down. Clearly this is just God telling me I should be a full-time blogger, right!? 🙂 I’m a big believer in everything happening for a reason and I have no doubt there are great things in our future.

Friday’s Fab Freebie :: Week 8

What would we do without Fridays? Everything is just BETTER on a Friday. Especially when you get free stuff, like another printable! I need to sit down and make a bunch of these so I’m more prepared and not scrambling for ideas every Thursday. But what would be the fun in that?! This weekend I’m headed to NYC to watch the hub’s baseball team play in their District Tournament and I’m so excited! I missed their Region Tournament last weekend when I was in Miami so I’m so happy they won and are moving on so I can go support them. Sunshine, hot dogs and baseball sounds like a pretty solid weekend to me!

I found this quote a while back on Pinterest and tucked it away in my “Freebie Folder” for inspiration. I love all the geometric art that has been gaining popularity and decided I’d make some myself! Something about this quote just makes me smile and I hope it does the same for you!

Friday’s Fab Freebie! :: Week 6

Who’s excited it’s Friday?! I know I am. Even though I only had a four day work week, it’s always hard coming back after a long weekend. Hmmm ya I’m having a bit of writers block right now and really can’t think of anything else to say so let’s just get to the freebie shall we? Ha. We all get consumed with work and life and need to remember to take the time out of our busy schedules for the things that truly make us happy.

What’s your passion? What makes your soul happy? I’d love to hear!

Happy Friday loves and have a wonderful weekend!

Aqua Glass Table with Copper Knobs

I feel like this is one of those projects where people are going to either love it or hate it. It’s definitely bold and will only work in the right space, but I love it and I hope you do too! I bought this table a little while ago in a pair. The other one was slightly smaller and only had one drawer on the front. I debated redoing them together, but decided to let them go their own ways since they aren’t quite identical.

I’ve been loving all the pastels that are on trend this spring and wanted to give one a go. I was originally going to go with a mint color, but couldn’t find one that I really liked. I’ve never used Pantone’s paint before and they had tons of pretty pastels to choose from. I ended up going with Aqua Glass and from the start new I was going to get some more use out of my copper spray paint with the knobs. The fabric I used is from Modern Cloth, an Etsy store run by the lovely Mariah. She has SO many wonderful fabrics. Seriously. Go check her out! I searched for a pretty floral fabric for a while, but when I spotted this one I just couldn’t resist. It may look a little familiar, as I used it as the background for my DIY Leather Plant Tags photo shoot 🙂

Here’s a quick before and after before I show you the rest!
