DIY Painted Planters with Gold Leather Accents

As promised, today I’m sharing with you the tutorial for these cute little planters that I made for my Tripod Tables. Do you hate the ugly terra cotta plastic planters that most plants and succulents come in as much as me? Then this tutorial is for you. It’s SO easy and it makes such a big difference. You can customize them as much as you want and the possibilities are endless.

Dipped Tripod Tables with Gold Leather Accents

Happy Monday friends! Everyone have a good weekend? I hope so! It was community garage sale weekend in my town and I was able to sell my Napoleonic Blue Table! It went to a woman who was buying it for her daughter’s nursery. She’s finally pregnant with her first child after 13 attempts of in vitro. Talk about a long struggle. I’m so excited that my little table can help to furnish her little one’s room and it makes me happy to know it’s going to a good home. The weekend also brought me the perfect desk for my new computer! Well, technically it’s a sewing table, but when I’m done with it you won’t even know what it’s original purpose was. I can’t wait to show it to you guys. It’s a gem.

Today, I’m sharing with you my two round tables that I talked about a couple weeks ago here. I literally could have done just about anything to these guys, but decided to keep them somewhat simple.

When it Rains it Pours :: An Update

Well friends, it’s been a rough week here in the Bertolini house. On Friday I got laid off. Over the weekend, the hubs’ baseball team lost in their District Championship game; one game away from going to the World Series. And on Tuesday, I came home to find a dead laptop. Talk about some crappy things happening, huh? But ya know what? It could always be worse. In the grand scheme of things, it’s just a job, a game and a broken computer. All things you’re allowed to be upset about, but not let them drag you down. Clearly this is just God telling me I should be a full-time blogger, right!? 🙂 I’m a big believer in everything happening for a reason and I have no doubt there are great things in our future.

Friday’s Fab Freebie :: Week 8

What would we do without Fridays? Everything is just BETTER on a Friday. Especially when you get free stuff, like another printable! I need to sit down and make a bunch of these so I’m more prepared and not scrambling for ideas every Thursday. But what would be the fun in that?! This weekend I’m headed to NYC to watch the hub’s baseball team play in their District Tournament and I’m so excited! I missed their Region Tournament last weekend when I was in Miami so I’m so happy they won and are moving on so I can go support them. Sunshine, hot dogs and baseball sounds like a pretty solid weekend to me!

I found this quote a while back on Pinterest and tucked it away in my “Freebie Folder” for inspiration. I love all the geometric art that has been gaining popularity and decided I’d make some myself! Something about this quote just makes me smile and I hope it does the same for you!

Shine on you crazy diamonds and have a wonderful weekend!

Round Table Inspiration

Now that my sunburn from Miami is finally cooling down, I can move my body without being in pain and get back into some projects! I had such a great trip and am happy that the weather here is warming up into the 70s this weekend.

I got these two little tables a couple months back off craigslist for $15 total and they’ve been straight chillin’ on our front porch ever since. I love that they are completely blank slates and the possibilities are endless. With that being said, I needed some inspiration because my imagination was running wild all over the place.

I love the pastel colors of these and love the reverse dip. The bare exposed wood gives them a natural, clean look and I think these would be super cute with some little plants sitting on top!

Friday’s Fab Freebie :: Week 7

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all had a fantastic week. Mine was only 3 days and then it was off to Miami for a friend’s bachelorette party, where I’m currently enjoying the wonderfully warm weather and beautiful beach. Jealous? I’ll send you a postcard 😉 I thought it was only appropriate to have this week’s freebie have something to do with the beach or sun or something warm and summery! I found this quote while searching for inspiration and gave it a fun treatment on a nice bright background. Is there sunshine in your soul today?

If you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s because I refused to leave this gorgeous place.

Happy weekend and I hope you’re enjoying some warm weather and sunshine wherever you are!

Painting for a Purpose [And Milk Paint!]

I was super excited when a friend of the family asked if I wanted to donate one of my pieces to a silent auction for a Gala that she helps organize. It’s for the Carol M. Baldwin Gala which supports the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Aside from the fact that Carol Baldwin is the mother of the amazingly talented Baldwin brothers, she is also a courageous breast cancer survivor. After undergoing a double mastectomy, and beating her cancer, she began this fund to help raise the money needed to help researchers find the cause, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. She’s a native of Syracuse, NY, where her sons visit her often and have even been spotted in my little hometown 20 minutes away. 🙂

I jumped at this opportunity to help support such a great cause and try something new: milk paint! This is the brother table of my previous project that you can see here if you missed it. It only has one drawer and is slightly smaller. I definitely have mixed feelings about milk paint, and I’m sure most of it has to do with the fact that it was my first time using it and I really had no idea what I was doing. I am pretty in love with the end result though!

Who’s excited it’s Friday?! I know I am. Even though I only had a four day work week, it’s always hard coming back after a long weekend. Hmmm ya I’m having a bit of writers block right now and really can’t think of anything else to say so let’s just get to the freebie shall we? Ha. We all get consumed with work and life and need to remember to take the time out of our busy schedules for the things that truly make us happy.
