Happy Monday friends! Everyone have a good weekend? I hope so! It was community garage sale weekend in my town and I was able to sell my Napoleonic Blue Table! It went to a woman who was buying it for her daughter’s nursery. She’s finally pregnant with her first child after 13 attempts of in vitro. Talk about a long struggle. I’m so excited that my little table can help to furnish her little one’s room and it makes me happy to know it’s going to a good home. The weekend also brought me the perfect desk for my new computer! Well, technically it’s a sewing table, but when I’m done with it you won’t even know what it’s original purpose was. I can’t wait to show it to you guys. It’s a gem.
Today, I’m sharing with you my two round tables that I talked about a couple weeks ago here. I literally could have done just about anything to these guys, but decided to keep them somewhat simple.
It took me a while to make up my mind on a design and colors. I sat in the craft paint aisle for quite a while just staring at all the options. Hello, indecisiveness. At first, I thought about doing a pretty neutral color palette: white, gray and gold. But there are just WAY too many fun colors out there. So bold it was! I got Valspar samples from our local hardware store in Pursuit of Happiness, Tropical Paradise and Deep Pacific. Instead of making all the dips even, I made them all different heights which I think makes the legs even cooler!
I love the simplicity of a dip but I wanted to dress up the table a little. The question was, how? While aimlessly wandering the aisles of A.C. Moore, I came across this awesome gold craft lace. I’m not sure why it’s called lace, it’s more like flat rope. Either way, it’s awesome and you should try it!
I used super glue to attach it on either side of the yellow. I don’t know about you but I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I’m still trying to figure out how to get straight lines using painter’s tape. I feel like no matter how well I put it on, there always ends up being some sort of imperfection. This stuff solves all those problems! It’s such an easy way to add a stripe of gold (I think it also comes in silver and copper) without worrying about uneven lines.
I thought I wanted to do some sort of pattern on the top but ended up just painting it solid navy. I figured that whatever accessories someone would use, would dress it up and add some extra color.
I didn’t have anything I was super excited about to put on my tables for the pictures, so I obviously did what any DIY blogger would do: I made something! I’ll be sharing a tutorial on how I transformed boring plastic planters into pieces of art later this week. Make sure to come back and check it out!
What do you think about my dipped tables? Do you think going bold was the right choice?!
Hope you all have a fabulous day!
Psst! You don’t want to miss a super exciting announcement on Friday. Seriously. Don’t miss it. 🙂

Aw thank you! Glad you like them 🙂
First, amazing color choices. I know a whole lot about spending weekends in the paint craft aisle looking like I’m staring into a deep abyss. It’s all a part of the process.
Second, that gold “lace” was a stroke of genius. I never would have thought of using it the way you did, and it looks AWESOME.
Can’t wait to see the tutorial on the planters!!
Oh my goodness I’m seriously the most indecisive person and choosing paint colors is no different! I went with my gut on this one and it definitely paid off.
And seriously, isn’t that gold leather the bomb?! I don’t know if I’m a genius, but I’ll take it 😉
Planter tutorial will be up tomorrow! xo
